Fin Sterner
Hi, I’m Fin Sterner - GMF’s USA Ambassador, based in New York City. I began working with GMF in the fall of 2024 during my senior year at Barnard College, Columbia University. My course of study, a combination of Neuroscience and Sociology, has strengthened my understanding of how education and financial support impact the wellbeing of individuals and their broader communities.
Learning from and visiting my mother’s family in Kano has also played a major role in fueling my commitment to GMF’s mission. Witnessing firsthand the power of educational and community-organized financial support deepened my awareness of the acute need for this work to continue and expand.
GMF recognises that access to educational and financial resources is instrumental in combating poverty, encouraging financial autonomy and reinforcing community stability.
Since beginning my work with GMF, I have secured funding for education and community-led economic programs, particularly for women and people with disabilities. It has been deeply meaningful to contribute to GMF’s mission of empowering those often excluded from educational and financial opportunities. I look forward to continuing to work and grow with the foundation.
